Unit Pelaksana Teknis Dinas Pusat Kesehatan Hewan (UPTD PUSKESWAN) resmi berdiri pada Bulan Desember Tahun 2016 yang berlokasi di Jl. Mahsun Dg. Nompo, Kel. Tamangapa, Kecamatan Manggala Kota Makassar. UPTD PUSKESWAN merupakan salah satu sarana pelayanan kesehatan pemeriksaan kesehatan hewan Dinas Perikanan dan Pertanian Kota Makassar. Sesuai dengan tugas dan fungsinya UPTD PUSKESWAN bertugas untuk memberikan pelayanan kesehatan hewan seperti pelayanan pemeriksaan kesehatan hewan dan rawat jalan, pelayanan bedah ringan, pelayanan operasi minor (operasi ringan) pada hewan,sterilisasi hewan jantan dan betina kecil pada anjing dan kucing, pelayanan rawat inap serta pelayanan vaksinasi. Dalam mendukung keberhasilan dari pelaksanaan setiap kegiatannya UPTD PUSKESWAN dilengkapi dengan fasilitas ruang penerimaan pasien, ruang rawat inap kucing dan anjing dan ruang periksa pasien. Pada Tahun 2017 UPTD PUSKESWAN telah memberikan pelayanan kesehatan hewan hingga mencapai 1.556 ekor hewan dan 1.280 ekor layanan pemeriksaan dan rawat jalan hewan secara gratis tanpa ada biaya tambahan apapun.
